3 Best Business Laptops for Bloggers

Microsoft Surface Laptop 4

Improved components packed within the same thin and light chassis as the Surface Laptop line are the hallmarks of Microsoft’s new Surface Laptop 4.

When it comes to marketing, Microsoft hasn’t sought to position the Surface Laptop as anything other than an improvement on previous models in terms of battery life and power.

Design

If you’re looking for a drastic shift in the design of the Surface Laptop, you’ll have to check inside.

The Surface Laptop 4’s 3:2 display has large bezels that are difficult to ignore. I found myself glancing at the black bars surrounding the screen when I wasn’t focused on certain activities and wished they were smaller so that I could have a little more screen area to play with.

Ports

Both good and bad things may be said about Microsoft’s Surface Laptop 4 port choices. The Surface Connector is located on the right side of the device, while the USB-A, USB-C, and headphone jacks are all on the left.

I appreciate that this laptop has both a USB-A port and a USB-C port for connecting external devices, which provides it with more versatility. This USB-C connection does not support Thunderbolt 4, which is a disappointment for anyone planning to purchase powerful external peripherals like graphics cards or large-capacity hard drives that need Thunderbolt 3.

Having said that, while I prefer a sleek, uncluttered design, I also appreciate it when a laptop maker incorporates useful features like an SD card reader or a stylus cubby into the edges of their machine.

Display

There are certain advantages to the Surface Laptop 4’s 3:2 display ratio, especially if you do a lot of reading, editing, or other tasks that benefit from the extra vertical space.

Touchpad and keyboard

The larger keys and Alcantara material around the keyboard make typing on the Microsoft Surface Laptop 4 more pleasant than on most other laptops I’ve used.

The keys had 1.3mm of travel and a great click to them, which helped me avoid bottoming out when I was typing fast.

My huge stupid sausage fingers have plenty of freedom to wander about, thanks to a glass touchpad that measures 4.5 x 3 inches beneath the keys. Using gesture commands was a breeze on both surfaces, and I had no issues with either surface’s touchscreen.

Dell XPS 13

At this moment, it’s difficult to see how the Dell XPS 13 could get much better. For years, this near-perfect laptop has been at the top of our list of the best laptops because of its speedy performance and stunningly thin and bezel-less design, which Dell has improved with each version.

It is true that laptop computers are always improving, which is why Intel’s 11th Generation CPUs and integrated Xe graphics in the most recent Dell XPS 13 have made it quicker than before.

InfinityEdge display, a small design, and a comfortable keyboard and touchpad make this year’s model even better than last year’s model, making it one of the greatest Windows laptops ever.

Design

Despite this being my fourth contemporary XPS review this year, I’ve yet to grow bored of Dell’s best-in-class design. The Arctic White interior and sleek metal exterior of this laptop make most other laptops seem drab and uninspiring by comparison.

The revised look of the Dell XPS 13 Tiger Lake that was unveiled earlier this year is carried over, and that’s a good thing. A genuine webcam has been installed on top of Dell’s newest InfinityEdge display, making it the most bezel-free XPS yet.

Ports

There are just two Thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports, a microSD card slot (which can hold up to 32GB), and a headphone/mic connector on the XPS 13’s port choices.

It comes with an adapter for connecting older devices through USB-A, but you’ll most certainly need a dongle or a USB-C hub if you plan on attaching many peripherals and displays to your laptop.

Display

Dell’s newest InfinityEdge design, which reduced the bulky bottom bezel from the 2019 edition, keeps the new XPS 13’s 13.4-inch 1920 x 1200 display looking stunning as ever.

With a 91.5 percent screen-to-body ratio, the new XPS 13 provides an immersive, near-borderless viewing experience.

Using our light meter, Dell’s newest laptop registered a brilliant 469 on our scale. When it comes to brightness, it’s even better than the ZenBook Flip S (375 nits) and the newest MacBook Air from Apple (365 nits).

Touchpad and keyboard

Using the new XPS 13 keyboard, I was able to type for long periods of time without becoming tired of the feel of the keys. Fast and accurate typing was no problem for me when using Dell’s keyboard for the 10FastFingers typing test at a rate of 104 words per minute.

When it came to web page scrolling, pinching to zoom, and other multi-finger actions, I had no issues with the XPS 13’s 4.7 x 3.2-inch touchpad. More real estate for pounding out papers and emails all day thanks to Dell’s newest laptop, which has 9 percent bigger keycaps and a 17 percent larger touchpad than the last version.

HP Pavilion Aero 13

The HP Pavilion Aero 13 ($839 as tested) is a fantastic all-around ultraportable notebook for less than $1,000.

For a low price, the HP Pavilion Aero 13 provides a strong AMD Ryzen 7 CPU, a bright, colorful 13.3-inch display, a clicky keyboard, and a super light chassis.

It’s a wonderful value. However, some may find the absence of a microSD card port and the tiny keyboard deck annoying.

Design

If you think the HP Pavilion Aero 13 looks good, wait till you have it in your hands. It weighs just 2.2 pounds, making it feel like a piece of paper in my hands. A minimalist metal hood with a shiny HP logo in the center looks great.

It was easy to see the keyboard deck behind the smooth glass touchpad and the fingerprint reader right next to it when she was opened up. My eyes were drawn to the curved edges of the display’s bezel.

Ports

The HP Pavilion Aero 13 has an astounding amount of ports for such a compact laptop.

On the right side, you’ll find the power jack and one drop-jaw USB Type-A port, while on the left, you’ll find HDMI and USB Type-C connections, as well as a headphone jack.

However, a microSD card slot would have been excellent.

Display

HP Pavilion Aero 13’s 13.3-inch, 1920×1200 display is amazing for the price owing to a bright and vibrant surface.

The Aero 13’s display shines brightly for a laptop under $1,000, with a rating of 451 cd/m2. Zenbook 13 OLED (396 nits), XPS 13 OLED (417 nits), and ThinkPad X13 were all outclassed by the Acer Aspire 13. (278 nits). Who says you have to spend a lot of money to have a high-quality screen?

Touchpad and keyboard

The Aero 13 boasts one of the most comfortable keyboards I’ve ever used, despite its tiny deck.

On the 10fastfingers.com typing test, my speed was just 48 words per minute, far slower than my normal speed of 53 words per minute.

Despite this, the keys have a satisfying click and a punch to them. The only obstacle you actually have to overcome is the deck’s size. You’ll be OK if you’re used to the way a 13-inch laptop feels.

Conclusion

Investing in a reliable laptop to use for blogging is a significant financial decision. Laptops that are of high quality and are built to last can be used for years.

When it comes to making an investment in a laptop, you need to take both your financial situation and your requirements into consideration.

It is tempting to purchase a laptop that costs $4,000 for the sole purpose of blogging; however, this should only be done if you are actually generating money from your blogging.

The best part is that you are now able to buy a reliable laptop without exceeding your financial limits. You don’t have to exceed your spending limit. All of the 3 laptops we reviewed in this post are best for blogging.
